Valley of Danville

On the 9th of November the Cup of Brotherly Love travelled to Danville, Illinois and was presented at the Fall Reunion of the Valley of Danville, A&ASR NMJ.

The presentation was well received by a full house of Brothers.  There bust have been 50 to 75 people in attendance, each looking to receive some of the light contained within the Cup.

This was the new presentation, re-written by Brother Bill Wojtas (WM of Wayfarers Lodge #1001 AF&AM).  The Cup was accompanied by its usual articles sich as the Travel Book and Scrap Book.

The second Log book of signatures was filled up and a third new book must be started!  Over 200 presentations since 1958!

World Premier of the CoBL Blog

I am working on a project, to write a book providing the clearest and most concise account of the travels of the Cup of Brotherly Love's 1929 -1958 Journey around the world.  The book will hopefully be complete within a year's time.  Provided I get off my butt and finish it.

The First finished project is the completion of the List of presentations since its return in 1958.  To date, the Cup has been presented 206 times, mostly in the Chicago area, with a few trips to California, New York, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  There was one International journey to visit two lodges in Dublin Ireland.  Lodge 500 and the Duke of York Lodge #25, both in Dublin.

I have written to Lodge 500 in Dublin to see if there are any photographs of the presentation that they may be able to share.

The Blog

This is a work in progress, bits and pieces that I am scraping together as I research the Cup and it's travels.   The finished product will be in the book which I am writing about the Cup and its Journey.

The Book

Is not quite done, but is a work in progress.  I have a good base, but the finite details need to be researched and added.  I am going through the Book of Travel and going Lodge by Lodge and chronicling the journey and plotting it on a map as seen on the home page of this blog.
